The Day It Finished

without comments

Ladies and gentlemen, Hillary Clinton in one statement has virtually ended completely her run and has lost the respect of many.  For those of you who don’t know, in an interview she was asked about staying into the race so long even when there was no mathematical way for her to win.  She replied that her husband didn’t lock up the nomination until June and that Robert Kennedy was assassinated in June of 1968. What???!!!  That one statement proves that even though she may not be hoping for Obama’s death, but that Hillary Clinton is unfit to be President of the United States.  It just doesn’t make any sense whatsoever, and is the epitome of idiocy.

I hope Obama takes this opportunity however not to lambaste her, but to completely relieve Clinton from any guilt or blame.  It will be a huge gesture or class and unity.

What’s so ironic about this ordeal is that by talking of assassination, Hillary Clinton has commited political suicide.

Makes my stomach turn…

Throughout this election I have said that the rise of Obama and Clinton has disproved many misconceptions that we have about the American population.  When Obama won in 93% white Iowa I was more than moved and came to the conclusion that 2008 is no longer 2004.  I thought that the problems of the country – two wars, a fractured economy, and a planet in peril – outweighed racism and prejudice.

Unfortunately the primaries in Kentucky and West Virginia have proven me wrong, and I’m hurt by it.  Furthermore, a part of me feels that Obama has a larger mountain to climb than I thought.  How does one get through to some of these people who have such deep seeded racism in them?  Before race was a factor, but it’s becoming apparent that racism is becoming an issue.  How does Barack combat this?

Look, there are some people, as evident in this video that will never vote for Obama simply because of the colour of his skin.  And to those people I say “your loss”.  However, there are those that can be changed, and they need to be reminded of their better natures.  Obama should not patronize these people, instead he must change them.  Great leaders do not bow to public opinion, instead they shape public opinion.  Obama is a leader of exceptional skill who has this ability.

Firstly, he must remind all Americans of his great love for this country.  Secondly, he must address directly his race, heritage, and background.  Finally, and most importantly, he needs to do this not simply at rallies or town halls, but he must go door to door.  He needs to confront voters like those above face to face.  He’s told us that he wants to negotiate and change the mind of people like Ahmadinejad.  If he can’t change the mind of a white woman in West Virginia, how can we expect him to do that in Iran.

Idol

So Archuletta is pretty much owning this.  I think it’s his competition to lose now.  However, the best moment has to go to Lloyd Webber who criticized of all things the lyrics of the song that Archuletta picked out of the selection of a song writing competition.  It’s funny because Lloyd Webber is a man who has stated publicly that he prefers to work with lyricists that are not that good as it could put more focus onto his music.

But I will say he does make for some good TV.  I have a feeling Lloyd Webber will be bringing a show to the US, which means that there will be a reality show, and I’m more than certain it will be better than “You’re The One That I Want,” which was…trash.

One More Thing

Do the Republicans really think that the American population hasn’t learned a lesson?  Do they really think that they will once again listen to the likes of Karl Rove and George Bush?  I don’t understand whatsoever why John McCain hasn’t told the two to shut up.  The more phony tough talk that comes out of the mouths of Rove and Bush the more Obama can link McCain with them.  It also doesn’t help that McCain is jumping on the wagon.

Again, as I’ve said, this November if things continue like this, is shaping up like a huge Democratic landslide.

Obama Taking Charge

without comments

I must say how impressive Obama has been today tackling George Bush’s disgusting speech yesterday in Israel where he equated Democrats who want to engage in diplomacy with Iran as Nazi appeasers.  Politics is about controlling the debate and that is exactly what he’s done today.  If there was any doubt that this man is ready for the Republican attacks today’s performance will dispel much of it.  In fact it’s amazing to see the White House press staff, and Republican surrogates who at first were open to claiming that the speech was directly in regards to Obama are now trying to claim that it’s puzzling that people would think that it was in fact about him.  It means that Obama is winning this fight and they know it.

I predicted almost a year ago that Obama would win the primary on the premise that America after 8 years of the worst presidency in its history was ready for true change and that Obama was quite frankly one of the most gifted politicians since JFK.  I was right.  Today I will predict that Obama will win the White House in the manner that Reagan did…huge.

Crazy Going Ons

without comments

So I’ve been pretty sick for the past few days.  I think I got some diluted form of the Claire Jullien/Thom Marriott disease.  I’m happy to report that I’m back in business today.  So back in business that I think I’m gonna hop right back onto the P90-X train.

So yesterday Thom Allison with a big smirk on his face says that he has something for me.  Knowing Thom Allison it could either go two ways.  He can either give me something really sweet like a thoughtful gift, or it could be totally random and hilarious.  Indeed it was the latter.  He tells me that he was casually “perusing” the net and he came across this photo of this gay porn star named Francois Sagat and he says that it totally looks like me post P90-X.  I personally don’t see it, and it’s probably more like post P90-XYZ but here he is ladies and gentlemen…

Other than that things are going well here.  I will be moving to a new place come July 19th.  The place Wayne and I have now is pretty ghetto and not suitable for the entertaining I plan to do in the summertime.  Suffice it to say our new place is prime locale in NOTL and is much bigger.  It even has a sun room bitches.  I’m calling the sun room the “Sangria Station”.  Believe me there will be much Sangria had there.

Understudy Anticipation

without comments

So yesterday was kinda drama filled at that Shaw Festival.  On Friday, Thom Marriott, whom I understudy, came into our matinee feeling very sick and told me to get ready for a possible performance tomorrow.  I was obviously excited/scared/really scared.  He also told me that his wife Claire, who plays the title character in The Stepmother is feeling worse than he is.  Anyways, the matinee goes on Friday and Thom does exceptional, as expected, under his condition.  I love watching this guy, he’s immensely talented and makes it seem every night that he is doing it for the first time.

Saturday comes and in comes Claire to rehearsal for After The Dance.  She was too put it mildly…crazy ill.  Christopher Newton arranged rehearsal so that she could go home and rest before her performance of Stepmother.  To make a long story short, Claire calls Marla McLean at 6:50 pm saying she can’t go on.  Thus began the crazy shuffle.  There was a debate as to what was going to happen?  Stepmother had their understudy line run on Thursday and there wasn’t a blocking rehearsal yet.  Artistic Director Jackie Maxwell was posed with a problem.  Should she do the show with actors who are unfamiliar with blocking, should she stage a reading of the show, of should she just call the show off.  After examining her options, she unfortunately, and rightly felt that the best course of action would be to call the show off.

It’s always sad when something like that happens and makes you realize just how different my line of work is.  At any other job you could call in sick no problem.  It also reminds you that you need to be ready as you never know exactly what may happen.

How much more proof do we need?

without comments

This woman is hilarious.  She’s asked whether she could name a single credible economist who supports this bogus gas-tax holiday.  What does she do?  She sidesteps and triangulates.  Anyways, read the short details below.

Hillary: It’s Me And Ordinary Folks Against “Elite” On Gas Tax Holiday

Hillary Clinton has just started doing an Indiana town-hall meeting being broadcast on ABC, and George Stephanopoulos asked her a direct question:

Could she name a single economist who agrees with her support for the gas tax holiday?

Hillary sidestepped the question, and tried to use the complete dearth of expert support for the idea to her advantage, pointing to it as proof that she’s on the side of ordinary folks against “elite opinion” — a phrase she used twice.

“I think we’ve been for the last seven years seeing a tremendous amount of government power and elite opinion behind policies that haven’t worked well for hard working Americans,” she said.

A bit later she added: “It’s really odd to me that arguing to give relief to a vast majority of Americans creates this incredible pushback…Elite opinion is always on the side of doing things that don’t benefit” the vast majority of the American people.

An ordinary voter begged to differ, however. Stephanopoulos turned the mike over to a woman who said she supported Obama and said she makes less than $25,000 a year.

“I do feel pandered to when you talk about suspending the gas tax,” the woman said, adding: “Call me crazy but I actually listen to economists because I think they know what they’ve studied.”

We’ll be bringing you more from Hillary’s town hall right here — and at 10 AM, Obama is being interviewed by Tim Russert on Meet the Press. Stay tuned.

Prophecy from Kentucky

Get this, Hillary Clinton picked a horse named Eight Belles to win the Kentucky Derby.  Eight Belles finished second.  The winner was the favorite, Big Brown.  Eight Belles collapsed immediately after crossing the finish line, and was euthanized shortly thereafter.  – Courtesy of Time’s The Page
